There are a number of Kickstart Scheme opportunities within the City Council for young people in our district.

Kickstart jobs are funded by the Government to offer exciting opportunities for young people to gain valuable work experience. The opportunities offer valuable experience to build up a young person’s CV, boost future job prospects and help to start their career. The scheme is open to people aged 16-24 that are currently claiming Universal Credit and are at risk of long-term unemployment.

Residents experiencing financial hardship can apply for help from the Government’s Household Support Fund to pay for essential living costs over the winter months.
